As a pilot project, during the period October 2014 to December 2015, Malmö University is offering the university’s researchers financial aid for publication in open access journals. During this period, the fund from which you can apply for financial aid will consist of SEK 200,000 and aid will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Meanwhile, a number of criteria must be met for the application to be granted.

A large number of open access publishers give authors the opportunity to make their articles freely available to all by paying a fee. Malmö University’s open access policy includes the aim that the university’s “staff and students should publish their research results in journals that apply open access when a suitable such journal exists”.
